The Blessed Madonna Count On My Love

The Blessed Madonna, Daniel
Wilson & Kon (feat. Yuki Kanesa) – Count On My Love

[FFRR]

The Blessed Madonna returns with another infectious club-pop track, “Count On My Love.” Collaborating for the first time with US singer-songwriter Daniel Wilson and Boston DJ KON, this track features piano by Berklee College professor Yuki Kanesaka, known for his remixes for artists like Bootsy Collins and Chaka Khan.

Drawing on her Chicago roots, “Count On My Love” celebrates the sounds that have shaped modern US dance music. The Blessed Madonna notes that the whistling on the track is just Wilson practicing melodies during the session. She adds that Yuki was asked to channel Bruce Hornsby, and after blending their incredible jazz and funk playing with distortion and a 909, she knew they had something special.
