Happiness Therapy is an excellent French label which has been delivering some outstanding house music via their stable of producers which includes label boss Crowd Control, Jesse Bru, Ricky Razu and Tour-Marbourg, all of whom are present on this compilation.

Landing back in March as part of their 3rd Birthday celebrations, this comp contains 9 choice house tracks with every one having that distinct and very funky French touch about them. Warm and delightful this album is a must have for those summer days. Perfect for the beach, poolside and open air clubs the whole album has a nice timeless feel.

Funky French League – Boogieland Vol 1

Funky French League have been a joy to watch in 2022. Comprising LV fav Young Pulse alongside Dabeull, Arthur Chaps, Woody Braun, Mr Willy, DJ Asko and Uncle T it’s a collective brimming with knowledge, skill and passion.

One of the things that really shines through with the Funky French League is their joyous approach to everything they do. The love for music simply shines through.

That rings perfectly true for their Boogieland Vol 1 compilation which features only french funk/disco/boogie tracks from 77 to 84.

Like everything they touch it has disco party vibes aplenty but keeps firmly on the right side of the underground line.

Clocking in at over two decades old Eskimo is a brilliant and prolific label which across those years has established it’s own sound and is very much a tastemaker label.

This year they released four volumes of the finest ever remixes from across the labels extensive catalogue all of which were tied up in one monster compilation.

It’s an absolute must have for DJ’s who love their disco and house from the leftfield and with more than a touch of euphoric about it.

This mini album ties together six of Michael Gray’s outstanding remixes for legendary US label Easy Street. Having already featured several of these in their own right previously on Le Visiteur this compilation was a cert for this list.

With classic titles aplenty including Adeva’s In & Out of My Life, Cultural Vibes Ma Foom Bey and Kathy Browns’ Happy People this album perfectly showcases Michael’s innate ability to turn yesterday’s heat into tomorrows dancefloor fillers.

Partyfine Vol VI [Partyfine]

Yuksek’s Partyfine had another first class year cementing it’s place as one of the gatekeepers of the Nu Disco sound.

The sixth Volume of their Partyfine compilation series was packed with 17 rather divine cuts from the likes of Alex Blex, Birdee, Patchworks, Villa, Rabo & Snob and of course Yuksek whose Roulette was one of the disco club tracks of the year.

Trash The Wax – A Decade of Nu Disco [Paper Disco]

The final entry on our 2022 best compilation list is a bitter sweet one as it’s the 10th but also the final edition of the ace Trash The Wax series which we have been big fans of here at Le Visiteur.

Safe to say though that they saved the best for last with 22 tracks of Nu Disco, House, and Indie Dance bliss featuring both classics from the series and brand new cuts.

Stand out tracks come from Late Nite Tuff Guy, Leon Sweet, Doc L Jr, Yam Who? Ed Wizard and Disco Double Dee and Danny Russell and Ronald Christoph.
