Art Of Tones – Where The One Is
Art of Tones has been making some serious moves over the last couple of years and behind it all has been a steady stream of absolutely first class music. House music with a serious attention to detail, music which straddles a multitude of genres but which is unerringly funky.
His latest offering on the always excellent Local Talk label is the ‘Where The one Is’ EP which features 3 superb tracks, each one a heavy hitter for the clubs.
Lead track ‘Where The One Is’ features a huge bassline, actually a really huge bassline, the kind that will rock literally any spot. It’s backed up by some seriously hot drums with huge fills, jazz inflected keys and some on point vocals.
Track 2 Double Wheelin’ follows a similar vibe with a huge live style bassline adding in some vocal chops from First Choice and some very tasty key stabs, this one is a serious groover.
Track 3 ‘Reprise De Fonk’ starts off where ‘Where The One Is’ left off, the bassline is back from the former topped off by Hammond style keys pushing the track on, it ebbs and flows perfectly before really kicking into top gear with the addition of a bluesy vocal.
Excellent EP.
