Conrad Lee – Ten Tracks That Are Killing It Right now.

There’s a brand-new party launching in London called ‘The Drop’. The party is inspired by the open-minded and genre-bending party scene of the 90’s and will present DJ’s and Live Acts who share a disregard for pigeon-holing and cookie-cutter peak-time bangers, opting for a vibe which touches the soul and brings a fresh new energy to London.

‘The Drop’ is on a mission to bring a diverse selection from underground heroes and fresh new talent. The first party takes place at London venue, Omeara, in SE1 close to London Bridge on 9th March 2024.

The first edition of ‘The Drop’ sets out a powerful intention with headliners including the mighty Berlin duo Session Victim, wildcard Italian producer Black Loops, Delusions of Grandeur label head and Freerange kingpin Jimpster, NTS’s and Melodies International Mafalda, and Freerange Records very own players Matt Masters and rising star Conrad Lee.

It’s a Resident Advisor recommended pick! You grab your tickets here: The Drop: Session Victim (Live), Jimpster (Live), Black Loops, Mafalda at Omeara, London · Tickets

Conrad Lee - The Drop

To celebrate the launch of the party we asked Conrad to give us a list of some of the tracks that are slaying it right now on his dancefloors to give us a little taste of what to expect at The Drop.

Conrad Lee – Ten Tracks That Are Killing It Right now.

Payfone & Kyd Nereida – I Feel You – Leng Records

A slice of silky smooth, Balearic soul. I’ve been opening a lot of recent sets with this track, Payfone are one to keep an eye on.

Another Taste – Anything You Want

Another Taste have been releasing a steady stream of extremely authentic disco and boogie cuts, each track sounds like it was recorded in the 70’s but with a lick of modern production magic. Highly recommend checking out their last few EP’s

Musclecars – Running out of time

This track just about has everything! It’s a 7-minute journey, moving from heads-down warehouse club banger to a life affirming slice of authentic deep house.

Manuel Darquart – Jerry’s Song

Evoking that late 80’s /early 90’s chi-town sound with a splash of Italo house, killer!

Wallace – Whirl

It was hard to pick one Wallace track out, he hasn’t missed this year. ‘Whirl’ has everything I love in a house track. It’s groovy and percussive, evoking those early MAW dubs but with a modern twist.

Gene Tellem – Distance

I’ve been playing a lot of Gene Tellem’s stuff out recently, she’s a super consistent producer, striking a perfect balance of introspection and dancefloor heat.

Geotheory – Complex Organizm

This one dropped pretty recently but it’s not left my USB since I found it. I love the chords stabs, bouncy bassline and genius Deadmau5 flip.

Dauwd – Idris

Dauwd has been a killer producer for a while now, but his recent output on Psssh has really been incredible. Super groove focused imbued with tons of playful musicality. This track Idris is a perfect example of this.

Mandee & Central – If I Feel Like It

I’ve been in awe of the consistency of the Auhus scene in Denmark for a while now, their output has been a buy on sight. This track from Mandee & DJ Central is a personal favourite, it strikes that perfect balance between the dancefloor weight and swing of UK Garage with the musicality of golden age 90’s deep house. ‘Chefs Kiss’

Turbojazz feat. Rona Ray – Like You (Sean McCabe Remix)

I have always been a sucker for soulful house, this recent EP from Turbojazz instantly stood out to me, especially the Sean Mcabe remix. It does what it says on the tin, and it does it well!
