Ben Lewis and Josh Ludlow are Make A Dance. The DJ duo and owners of M.A.D RECORDS, that are all about the passion and the love of the dance!
We asked them to highlight one of their favourite record labels and the lads chose the legendary New York imprint Easy Street. The much-revered New York City label released timeless disco and house music since 1983. Created by originally by Michael Gussick, Easy Street was responsible for some true classics of our time.

This was the first release on the label, kicking things off just as they meant to go on. I can’t not smile when this playing.
Cultural Vibe – Ma Foom Bey (Love Chant Version) 1986
A club classic with its impeccable vibe, African vocal, rolling drum machines and THAT Iconic Bassline. POW!
Monyaka – Go Deh Yaka (Club Mix”) 1988
A power blend of Reggae and Disco. It’s a bonafide party starter.
In Sync – Sometimes Love (Ozone Club 12 Mix”) 1987
Heart Break and 707’s complimented with the usual jack-hammer production from the era from Easy Street! Also, it has the mega vocal chops in the intro.
Sleeque – One For The Dub (Original Club 12”) 1986
A dreamy ‘garage’ moment for eyes closed dance floor vibrations.
Cultural Vibe Featuring Glenn “Sweety G” Toby – Power (Power Dub I)
An understated heads down roller, this really embodies the sound of ‘proto house’ to me.
Serious Intention, You Don’t Know (Limited Edition Special Remix) – 1984
Yet another Paradise Garage classic. A flawless piece of dance floor action.

Tripped out! There’s everything on this decadent disco departure.

Simply, a nice slice of New York Dub house.
Definite Destruction – You Played Me for a Fool (Clubstruction Vocal)
I love how dance tracks at this time would have so many different parts working together. This is no exception to that.
