Tidal Waves Music proudly presents the FIRST OFFICIAL vinyl reissue of a rare Philadelphia album originally released in 1982 on Handshake Records And Tapes.

Karin Jones, a Philadelphia native, began her musical journey in church and later joined the soul group “The Jonesettes.” After backing Marvin Gaye, she signed with T-Electric Records in 1980, recording an album that remained shelved until Handshake Records released “Under The Influence Of Love” in 1982.

The album, arranged by Dunn Pearson Jr and Bruce Hawes and produced by Jim Tyrrell, features a unique duet with Eddie Levert of the O’Jays.

Karin Jones sadly passed away in 1984. The album showcases heart-breaking modern soul, deep disco, boogie-funk, and diverse tempos, with the hit ‘Ready, Ready Love’ being a rare gem highly sought after by collectors.

Shifting into a mid tempo boogie lock, LCO features Jazz Funk head and long time collaborator Xantone Blacq on vocals providing the soulfulness, whilst Mr Milt Mavrakakis delivers the Rhodes magic & Hammond drive, all hugged around the unmistakable / flawless groove provided by Juan Laya on drums and percussion, Matheus Nova on Bass and Raphael Delfino on Guitar. On the flip side, Dave Lee rewinds to ’97 with his rework of Backroom Productions’ ‘Classic Vibe,’ flexing his house muscles by rearranging classic elements and adding extra keys.
