One of house music’s brightest stars, Kathy Brown has revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer which has spread to her brain. Kathy has already had an emergency operation and is now undergoing radiotherapy and immunotherapy. With a long road ahead to recovery Kathy needs our help.
Kathy made an immediate splash in house music with her second single Turn me out in 1994 which has gone on to become an almost omnipresent track on worldwide dancefloors and one of the most sampled and remixed tracks of all time. Those sessions with Cevin Fisher saw a star born, a house music diva who would light up dancefloors across the globe for the following three decades. A string of worldwide hits would follow for Kathy including timeless collaborations with A list producers including David Morales, Blaze, DJ Spen, Seamus Haji and Sandy Rivera. Indeed as lead singer on Soul Central’s “Strings Of Life (Stronger On My Own)” Kathy would become a worldwide star all over again. Her most recent track Good Inside with Soul Sonic Orchestra was one of our tracks of the year in 2023. She is a performer who has brought joy to so many.
Currently unable to perform Kathy needs our help with the many financial challenges that she and her family now face.
