Summer finally arrived in pretty spectacular fashion over the last few weeks and the continued sunshine has proven perfect backdrop for disco events across Europe with Suncebeat and Defected arriving side by side. One thing we know for sure is that disco and boogie trumps just about every other music genre when the sun is shining and Yam Who’s Midnight Riot has been peppering the download charts yet again with some incredible releases tailor made for those sun-soaked moments. There have been huge releases from Keller, Stan Boogie, Lee Wilson, Tommy Glasses, Frank Virgilio and our favourite of the month Danny Kane & Jack Tyson Charles P-Punk edged Boogie bomb We Come In Peace which you can check below.
Now kicking off the summer good and proper Yam Who is back on LV Online with his well loved Disco Juice Column picking out the best of the current and future Disco edged releases and it’s packed yet again with some truly spellbinding music.

The Boogie Brothers’ – Let’s Go feat Sato
Paper Recordings
When this bomb landed at Paper Towers their only option was to clear the decks and get it out asap. The Boogie Brothers’ ‘Let’s Go’ featuring Sato on vocals is the said track. Cooked up by Japan-based Julian Brennan and Cal Gibson (The Secret Soul Society) as a live disco jam that channels Arthur Russell, FK and Larry Levan. Sato from Japanese cosmic pop duo Viva Sherry was brought on board to provide vocals, and the result is a release that sounds like a modern disco classic. No remixes, no edits, just one stone-cold killer cut and with Danny Krivit already all over it.

The Black Hawks Of Panama feat Bisi – Freaky Dance

After an extensive DJ residency at the now legendary Cafe Mambo, warming up for the likes of Leftfield, Carl Cox, Jose Padilla and Frankie Knuckles, Danny Whitehouse aka Black Hawks Of Panama now has a very impressive production career. His new stomper ‘Freaky Dance’ for Midnight Riot features a collaboration with the French based vocalist Bisi. An actress foremost, Danny saw a performance by Bisi singing blues, so his aim was to take her voice and put it with Black Hawks music. ‘Freaky Dance’ is the sound he has been searching for, deep in the party groove, with rich textures of keys & synths all perfectly set to Bisi’s uplifting vocal antics.

Kid Simius is back on Jarifa Records with four dance floor jams, featuring a re rub from the mighty Gerd Janson. ‘We Like To Party’ features cult Spanish band ‘Hinds’ who take the track into piano house realms, carrying a mean bassline, crispy beats, a classic piano riff, an uplifting vocal chant, mixed with shimmering pads that will spark moments of joy on the dancefloor. Gerd Janson adds some serious weight to his mix, rinsing the piano house hook, adding layers of much tougher electronica and beats, turning out yet another cosmic disco excursion.

Sentimental Animals, a new project by Dicky Trisco and JKriv, is a celebration of dancing, late night antics, and musical togetherness. Their ‘Love Vibration EP’ on Razor-N-Tape features lead singer of Brooklyn disco outfit Escort belting it out with Faze Action’s Robin Lee delivering the magic on guitar, bass and keys. A bumper package of goodies, with Parisian disco don Yuksek turning out another burner of a mix. Over on the flip there’s a proto-house inspired Basement Mix as well as another original track, the funky instrumental Loose Rules. Art of Tones gets all down and dirty too, with a rolling and raucous funk remix.
