Razor-N-Tape open Brooklyn Record Store and Musical Hub and want you to get Involved!

We make no secret here at Le Visiteur that Razor-N-Tape are one of our favourite labels. Their output across the last few years has been sensational both across their edits label and their originals label Razor-N-Tape Reserve. Indeed we have covered many of their releases which you can check HERE. They are a label who have very much helped shape the sound of disco right now.

Now the team behind Razor-N-Tape are taking things one step further and showcasing their love for vinyl by opening a bricks and mortar record shop in their home borough of Brooklyn. Opening as part of their 10th Anniversary celebrations the shop will be open every Friday to Sunday stocking a wide range of vinyl from across the globe both straight from the presses and pre-owned. As you would expect you will also be able to pick up all the Razor-N-Tape releases as well as a host of sought after apparel.

The shop will feature a framed DJ booth in their window which will play host to guest DJ’s streaming across the web to the rest of the planet and giving us a real feel of Razor-N-Tape’s world.

The store design is by Elsa Arsenault and will feature “custom millwork furniture, a bespoke hifi sound system, and an oversized aluminum Bill Bernstein photo print, donated by the photographer himself”.

The shop will serve as the backbone of the Razor-N-Tape label operation, offices and shipping hub for the labels international operations.

Razor-N-Tape are currently hosting a GoFundMe campaign featuring exclusive merchandise, vinyl bundles, unreleased digital samplers, podcast USBs, & in-store savings to help raise money to fund the custom buildout & operations of the new space. Donators from around the world will receive special packages based on their giving level and NYC based participants have the option of choosing a more locally focused pack of gift & event rewards.

The store opens today for a friends and family soft launch with DJ Sets by Saucy Lady and Peter Croce before opening to the public next week. Make sure you check it out next time you are in Brooklyn and tell them we said hi x
