As we step further into 2021 Yam Who’s Midnight Riot have been keeping both the pace and quality of their releases high. What has also been notable at the label is the seismic shift towards producers creating their own vision of disco. It’s a label which is very much at the forefront of where disco is going to be heading in the future, a shimmering blur of fun, high energy original output. While we trudge through the last of the dark days of Covid Midnight Riot is also very much looking towards a brighter future as we plot our way back to events and festivals. The Pachouli Brothers – Can’t Get You Down

Candanian re edit crew The Patchouli Brothers step out with Moton Records with four heavy dancefloor cuts from bygone days. It’s the EP opener Can’t Get You Down that will really get you all hot & sweaty, with a hint of Patrick Adams. This is, however, more European sounding with misty-eyed female vocals, exotic strings worked over a rubbery bass guitar and bouncy beats ending with a powerful life affirming sax solo. A diggers delight to the highest degree, the whole is EP is totally worth your money and sees the Moton crew with a classic return to form.
