Lovedrop – Lovedrops 2
Lovedrop

After previous releases on G.A.M.M and Home Taping is Killing Music and winning love from the likes of Luke Solomon, Dicky Trisco & Tropical Disco along the way, Adam Dubock aka Lovedrops is back with another heavy hitting 2 sided affair. ‘Track 1’ is a smooth bumper with sax lines, party atmosphere and snippets of a tasty disco-funk working throughout over a killer house beat. The flipside Adam delivers a locked-in, subtly tooled-up take on an electric piano-sporting jazz-funk gem that sits at the jazzier end of the spectrum.

Bosq feat The Ibibio Horns – Song For Ehi
Canopy

‘Song For Ehi’ is a fierce collaboration between afro disco funk producer Bosq and the Ibibio Sound System’s horn section and their vocalist Kaleta. Inspired by a combination of classic Edo-funk, Afro-disco and reggae disco, the A-side original version is a perfect mix of timbales-sporting dub disco grooves, reverb-laden lead vocals, Afro-funk guitar licks, Afrobeat-esque organ licks and punchy horns. The track’s inherent dubbiness is further explored on the flipside revision, adding extra layers of percussion, breathless dancefloor weight and a killer dub workout.
