Brighter Days – Sat 27th July, Enigma (San Antonio Ibiza)

Ft Blackwax, Le Visiteur, Paskal Daze & Stevie Gell

Brighter Days is the type of spontaneous club night that we rarely hear about these days. Lead promoter Sarah Day explained to us that it came about through chance after she moved from London to Cambridge in 2015 and found the club scene to be missing nights of the type she had enjoyed in the capital. Starting a facebook group for Cambridge locals to share their love of clubbing and their favourite tracks she was surprised when the group quickly amassed 1k members who were actively participating.

Events would soon follow, at first in a local bar with 100 people attending they would soon move to Cambridge Fez bringing in the likes of Grant Nelson and Victor Simonelli as guests morphing into the Brighter Days clubnight. A variety of different venues and guests would follow as the crowds continued to grow. Appearances by Paul Trouble Anderson (RIP), Natasha Kitty Kat & Mousse T would follow culminating in a 1000 capacity event with Glitterbox, Joey Negro and Melvo Baptiste at the Junction in Cambridge in November 2018 and a show with Simon Dunmore and Melon Bomb in April 2019.

Much of this success was built on a strong residents team which included Blackwax, CJ Cooper, Simon Morgan and Adi Allen providing a fun and passion filled disco and house soundtrack. As well as top class lights, visuals and club decor from Gillman Audio, WOW Decor and Light Design.

Summer 2019 has seen Brighter Days move over to Ibiza with a fortnightly residency at Enigma in San Antonio for their Island Life Party’s. On the site many will remember as Kanya Beach club Enigma recently received a full refurbishment and suits Brighter Days perfectly with a welcoming outdoor pool area which is family friendly during the day and is also ideal for those recovery sessions with a club room inside which is called into action once the lights go down through to 6AM.

With two successful events under their belt already featuring the talents of Danism + Train and Groove Assassin, their residents and local DJ’s Brighter Days Island life will be back on the 27th July with Blackwax, Paskal Daze, Remi Rose, Stevie Gell and our own Le Visiteur taking over the decks for 15 hours of disco and house from deep to soulful

We had a quick chat with some of the DJ’s for the 27th to see what we can expect to hear as they spin across the day.
We also had Blackwax put together a full length DJ mix for us which you can check above .

Stevie Gell

Hi there Stevie, please can you tell us a little about your djing style. What can we expect from your set on the 27th?

I’m from Nottingham and I am a partner in Deluxe Nottingham’s number 1 Soulful Disco night. My style is very much influenced by 80’s groove, Disco, & Gospel House. I am a big believer that the music I play should be positive and a dancefloor is a place where we can all forget 9-5 and unite through the medium of music.

Please can you give us a couple of tracks which never leave your DJ box which we can expect to hear on the 27th?

Black Masses – Wonderful Person (MAW Vocal Mix)

The Shapeshifters featuring Teni Tinks ‘Try My Love (On For Size)’ (Club Mix)
