LV Premier – Gus Paterson – Mirage [Citizens of Vice]
Gus Paterson returns to Citizens of Vice following his ace Regole Di Terzi EP from last year. His latest EP Neretic features four original cuts and a remix of the title track from Richard Sen. Keeping things decidedly Balearic across the first three tracks Neretic, Cost of Loving and Mirage Gus’s production skills shine through. Packing in delicious sun-infused goodness through-out from deft keys and swirling synths via smile inducing basslines any one of these tracks would sound just about perfect gracing the sound systems of Ibiza’s myriad beach and sunset bars.
Fourth track Moonbath still has that sun infused goodnees but is a little more primed for the dancefloor, imagine this one at Pikes around the pool with a cocktail in hand and you are on the right path. Seeing the EP out is Richard Sen’s fiery remix of Neritic a real midtempo chugger but still keeping that Ibiza Moments in time vibe strong.
Extremely nice work all round.
