Staybad had a wicked 2020 with tight releases from DuBeats, Emeskay, Sex On Decks and many more. Jumping straight into 2021 with both feet their first release comes from highly rated San Diego resident Jesusdapnk with the ace five track Guava Street Jack EP.
Kicking things off is the eponymous title track and our premier today. Super deep and delightfully subtle, it’s powered by some mighty drums which give it more than enough groove to do some serious damage on the dancefloor while the hook line has more than enough earworm about it to demand repeat listens.
Next up is the jackin’ groove of From the Crate which is again a subtle and equally divine groove of a track.
The following three tracks head off into deeper territory from the smooth deep groove of Rooftops via the breakbeat of Le Rythme and the looped up off kilter Monday’s Tragedy. It’s an EP with much to say from a producer who easily melds deep lush soundscapes with heavy club focussed beats.
Another winner for StayBad and Jesusdapnk alike.
