Internasjonal have been on scintillating form in 2021 with huge releases from Sound Support and All Is Well & Martin Iveson. Their latest release is also a thing of real beauty from Adelaide’s Ben Smith under his Temple guise. Recorded in his hardware rich studio the whole EP has a wonderful depth and warmth across it’s four tracks which cross multiple electronic genres.
Opening with Love Machine it’s a lush deep house meets Scandinavian disco track replete with smooth pads, crunchy drums and spacey laser synths. This is a classy offering which has those early morning after-club sessions written all over it, hazy and transformational.
Our premier today is Love Machine II with it’s squelchy bass synth, ever so soulful, Marvin Gaye-esque vocal. A timeless synth house moment which just pulls on the those heart strings.
Over on the flip are the dusky smoke heavy feels of Preview. It’s deep and euphoric but still with plenty of groove.
Final track Xanga is back off into the edges of Scandinavian disco with it’s acid edged bassline, trickling synth licks and edgy lead synth.
The whole EP is pretty much a masterpiece of production, full of depth and incredible musicianship.
