LV Premier – Martin Georgi – Marvin’s Trip (Delfonic Rework) [Nomada]
Following on from their recent Delfonic Edits Vol 2, which was a huge LV favourite, Nomada Records are back with Martin Georgi’s 5 track Motor City Damage EP which pays some serious homage to the deepest of Detroit house from cosmic key led journey Green Motor Damage through to throbbing electronic edged club slammer Fix Your Up.
It’s a intriguing project which sees Martin very much back in the limelight. His approach to music is fascinating and is summed up by EP title track Green Motor Damage which was inspired by the rising civic movement in Detroit which is reclaiming the land left behind by the long since departed car industry. For the track he has paired up samples of interviews about the land reclamation project alongside interview samples focusing on Detroit’s poverty and unemployment. It’s a style which Nomada have coined as “intelligent sample-based house music”!
Our premier from the EP today is Marvin’s Trip as remixed by the aforementioned Delfonic. He’s is a key supporter of Martin so it’s apt that he jumps in on this EP. On Marvin’s Trip he has turned in a brilliant Detroit-esque disco edged houser, super deep and super cool. Just the way we like it.
This is a seriously classy EP!
