We last covered London’s disco duo Noden when they dropped their ace Skinner EP early last year via Liftin Records, it was a powerful debut release and a definite mission statement for what was to come.
Now they are back on with a monster double header of and EP Das Funk via the mighty Midnight Riot.
Opening with title track Das Funk it’s a huge party starter of a disco house jam. Huge strings, classic vocal stabs and an ever so funky synth bassline do the damage here. This one is a floor filler through and through. Packed with mountains of 70’s disco grace it’s perfectly produced to create crazy scenes when we finally get back to our dancefloors hopefully sometime in 2021. This one is a winner all day long.
Tracks 2 The Approach is deeper and focusses in on the groove. A bubbling bassline does much of the heavy lifting here augmented by smooth synth pads and some heavily effected vocal samples. Ace track for those more chilled or Balearic sets.
