Saint Wax recently opened their account with a super EP from label boss Gledd who is one of the hugely talented pool of Mexican producers ruling the Disco airwaves right now. Turning things up again the label’s next EP Aguardiente Y Mezcal is incoming and features two tracks each from The Funk District and Vagabundo Club Social, two acts we have loads of time for on LV online. As you would expect it’s full of underground Latin edged club bumpers.
The EP opens with The Funk District’s Gogo Mama with it’s classic Latin edges. It’s a track packed full of dancefloor charm. It’s warm and energetic vocal is complimented by some wonderful drum programming which augments the original perfectly giving it that 2021 touch.
Our premier today is The Funk Districts heavy groover Easy Easy with it’s bluesy guitar licks, effusive string stabs and yet more rock solid drums. This one has peak-time party written all over it.
Over on the flip Vagabundo Club Social take over with Cumbi a deep acid edged hypnotic club jam who’s piano breakdowns and synth stabs give plenty of dancefloor drama.
Closing the EP in fine fashion Vagabundo Club Social’s Ki-kongo is one of those tracks which just gathers you up in it’s arms and dumps you in the middle of the dancefloor throwing killer shapes along with everyone around you.
