Belgian artist Monks is a brand new name to us but his latest release Shame show’s us he’s a artist with lots of promise. Shame is a very tasty rework of Evelyn ‘Champange’ King’s evergreen classic of the same name.
Keeping the frantic BPM of the original Monks has taken the track ever so slightly deeper giving it a 2020 club makeover. Focusing on the bassline alongside some well chosen vocal loops it’s sparse beats are punctuated with smooth keys and ever so funky guitar licks. All of these touched combine to give this well worn track a nice fresh feel. Shame is a track for the peak time, a hands in the air celebration of all that is good with classic disco.
