Following up his ace EP for Ondulé Recordings from last month which we reviewed HERE Colombian producer Joint4nine is back with a sublime track as part of Fate And Fiction Recordings latest EP 006. Featuring a further five tracks from Kemback, Ment and label boss Thrilogy it’s an excellent compilation.
Opening with Kemback’s breakbeat driven Set Me Free it’s a real warehouse style track. Deep and undulating it’s packed full of power and dripping with drama.
Mint’s Creep is a spirited track with off kilter unsettling synths. It’s a track which will stand out from the pack and is perfectly crafted for those dark basement sets.
The man behind the label Bristol based producer Thrilogy has two tracks and a DJ tool on the EP in the shape of Arctic, Miss Your Love (90’s Edit) & Arctic Lead Tool. Across the board they are classy house outings from the powerful tech edged swirling house synths of Arctic to the deep pulsing bass of Miss Your Love and it’s classic feel. Miss Your Love is a track which has bags of crossover appeal, it’s deep and very cool but has a real immediate appeal courtesy of a stand-out vocal. His final track is the Arctic Lead Tool, 3 minutes and 15 seconds of that thumping lead synth line from Arctic.
Our premier today is Joint4nines delightfully smooth Changing Times, deep house with a classic pulsating feel. Powered by great drums which are a real feature of Joint4nines productions they underpin a wonderfully bumpy bassline and gentle synth stabs with classy vocal samples topping the whole thing off.
