2020 saw Joint4Nine very much start to break through and establish himself as an artist with both serious style and outstanding production ability as he cranked out some excellent releases on a swathe of quality labels turning the heat up to full as he closed out the year with a great release on Apparel Music. As part of that release we interviewed him which you can check HERE. He also laid down a brilliant mix for us which you can check at the bottom.

Thankfully it looks like he has no intention of slowing down in 2021 if his first release of the year on GLBDOM is anything to go by.

Packed with five tracks the Without U EP couples his love of left field hip hop with house music. Opening with Blue Happiness (Intro) it’s a smooth slice of funk infused hip hop packed with verve.

Next up is our premier today the title track Without You, a sublime slice of club focused house music. Powerful drums merge with pulsating percussion, 90’s style vocal stabs and a floating lead vocal line. All come together for a track destined for the peak-time.

This is How I Feel follows and has a distinctly French feel, pulsing synths and smooth pads, joust with a combination of vocal layers for a track with plenty of funk and grace.

The rotating acid lines of Cuz U Feel So Good complete the trio of house tracks showing the many different facets of Joint4Nine’s musical talents in the microcosm of one EP.

Outro Street Connections takes us back into J Dilla hip hop territory, combining heavy beats full of character, hypnotic scratches and synth stabs.

Another wonderful outing from this Colombian star in the making.
