We recently covered Rive Gauche the new project from Alexandre Destrez and his wonderful 35 Rue Dauphine track earlier this month. It felt like a perfect continuation of his work with St Germain with whom he played keys on their classic albums Boulevard and Tourist. You can check out our review HERE
Rive Gauche is now back with a brand new EP in the shape of Viva Paris. Title track Viva Paris is another sublime slice of Jazz inflected instrumental House music. Featuring some truly stand out brass along side Alexandre’s incredible keys this is a track which just shines with effervescent joy. It has a wonderful swing which just makes you want to run straight to the nearest dancefloor smiling like a lunatic as you go. Or as the case me be with the current worldwide lockdowns, turn it up and jump around your kitchen 🙂
The EP also features another slice of brass infused feel-good house in Au Tabou and the very slightly more laidback but equally jazzy Silent Day.
If Jazz infused house is your thing then this is quite simply about as good as it gets. The production levels are though the roof.
